The present invention relates to a training firearm and more specifically, to a training firearm that mimics the trigger mechanism of real firearms. The training firearm comprises a frame, a break arm, a movable magnate, a frame magnet, a trigger, a reed switch and a shot indicator. On application of force, the trigger pushes the break arm to move the movable magnate closer to the reed switch. Once the magnetic field of moveable magnate is detected by the reed switch it turn on the shot indicator to shoot a laser.

A mortar training device includes a barrel body including a bore; a shot detector contained in the barrel body and including a shot detection sensor and configured to output an electronic signal indicating a firing of an inert mortar projectile from the barrel body; a battery; a plurality of orientation sensors contained in the barrel body; and one or more processors and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to receive the electronic signal from the shot detection sensor indicating that an inert mortar projectile is fired from the barrel body, and determine an elevation of the barrel body and an azimuth of the barrel body when the inert mortar projectile is fired from the barrel body based on sensor data received from the plurality of orientation sensors.

Systems and methods are disclosed herein to improve efficiency and effectiveness in firearms and tactical training, at least in part by selectively generating images onto external target elements. One or more portable devices are selectively mounted with respect to selected ones of the external target elements, which may be fixed in position or mobile as the application demands. Each device includes a housing accommodating and configured for optical projection of light from an array of laser sources and diffractive optical elements. A device controller directs the projection of light from one or more of the laser sources according to a programmed dynamic target stimulus arrangement. The device controller may be individually and manually programmed or commanded in some embodiments, but alternatively a master controller may be implemented to coordinate light projections from an array of devices to provide any number of desired scenarios for neurological and/or physiological stimulation of users.

The present invention is a mobile app using a mobile computing device's camera and microphone to monitor and score metrics for a shooting drill assigned to a marksman on the display of the mobile computing device. Mobile computing devices for multiple users of the mobile app are in networked communication with a server. The individual data points for total time, split time(s), reaction time(s), accuracy, and precision as well as an overall combined score can be saved for each marksman and compared to other marksmen's shooting metrics. Scores can also be assessed based on decision making, such as shoot/threat vs. no shoot/nonthreat. The present invention also provides a virtual shooting range in which users engage in online community activities, competitions, forums, skill building, and training. The mobile app receives wireless signals from a dynamic target stand indicating a target is turned and automatically correlates target turns with the shot clock.

A combat training system for carrying out and monitoring at least one shooting practice and combat scenarios, comprising: at least two components, with a first component being a firearm and a second component being a target object; a device for sensing position information of each of the at least two components; device for sensing spatial orientation information at least for the at least one firearm of the at least two components; and an information processor, in which position information of the at least two components and the orientation information of the at least one firearm is processed and transformed into at least result information. The at least two components each have a clock, which are time-synchronized with each other and each generate coded time signals with a component identifier which individualizes the respective component, and an event sensor is provided on each of the at least two components.

The training system has a simulacrum firearm having a trigger assembly, electro-stimulators engaging a user's body for producing an electrical stimulation, shot detectors for detecting an actuation of the trigger assembly, a grip detection unit for detecting modes of gripping the simulacrum firearm by the user, and a command and control unit operatively connected to the simulacrum firearm and to the electro-stimulators to control the electro-stimulators on actuation upon a detection of an event of a fired a shot by the shot detectors The command and control unit commands intensity, duration, timing and type of electrical stimulation, namely electric current, emitted by the electro-stimulators as a function of a detection performed by the grip detection unit.

A personalized combat simulation equipment ( 6, 9 ) for use in combat training and simulation is attached to a weapon ( 10 ). By means of sensors ( 1, 2, 3, 5, 55 ), it detects the use of the weapon and is able to determine the position and the performance in use. Evaluation is performed by an evaluation unit ( 6 ), preferably an artificial intelligence unit. Its preferred use is in a training environment, where at least one of sensors watching the behaviour of participants and surveying objects are not present.

This is a cartridge shaped laser dry fire training device that can be inserted into the chamber of a firearm and used for demonstrating where the simulated shots strike during each trigger press of a dry fire practice session when coupled with the DryFireMag training device as disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 9,182,189 B2. The laser dry fire training device preferably is composed of a red diode laser, a set of batteries, and electronic PC board, a lens to allow the infrared light emitted by the diode mounted on a specially designed dry fire training magazine to excite the electronics of the electronic PC board, and two threaded cylinders to house said components.

A method to detect, identify and determine the position of laser points from infrared laser emitters in a firearm training simulation system. The method consists of two steps. This first step combines some common tools such as a camera with a filter switcher and edge and corner detecting algorithms in image processing to provide a fast automatic screen calibrating method. The second step is to detect laser point objects in each frame continuously captured by the camera, and then further process these objects to identify laser shots, filter out noisy objects, and eventually detect simulated shots from different laser emitters and determine the final mapped position of the shot.

The present invention relates to a method for embedded combat vehicle gun target tracking training performed at an electronic device, an electronic device for performing the method and a computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs for performing the method. The method comprises determining a trajectory of a virtual target for a period of time; determining an aim point location of the weapon system; displaying, on a display device, a first and second graphical object overlaid onto an image sequence, wherein the first graphical object represents an aim point location of the weapon system and wherein the second graphical object represents a virtual target which moves along the determined trajectory. User inputs are received representative of control signals for causing weapon system movements and the second graphical object is updated based on the weapon system movements.

An apparatus is used to measure movement performance of a user undergoing firearm combat training. A light emitter emits a light signal along a beam path traversing over a starting location such that the light signal is interrupted by a user at the starting location. A target device initiates a visual representation of a threat directed towards a user at the starting location. A light detector detects a non-interference condition of the light emitter in which the light signal along the beam path is not interrupted at the starting location. A controller monitors the light detector and determines when the user has moved away from the starting location into the non-interference condition of the light emitter. The controller may also measure an elapsed time between activation of the target device and determination of the non-interference condition of the light emitter.

Disclosed embodiments provide systems and methods for simulation of firearm discharge and training of armed forces and/or law enforcement personnel. A motion tracking system tracks motion of one or more users. In embodiments, the users wear one or more sensors on their bodies to allow tracking by the motion tracking system. A scenario management system utilizes position, orientation, and motion information provided by the motion tracking system to evaluate user performance during a scenario. A weapon simulator includes sensors that indicate position of the weapon and/or orientation of the weapon. The weapon simulator may further provide trigger activation indications to the scenario management system. In embodiments, the scenario management system generates, plays, reviews, and/or evaluates simulations. The evaluation can include scoring based on reaction times, posture, body position, body orientation, and/or other attributes.

The electronic control system has settings data stored thereon that includes one or more laser settings that defines a pulse length and/or an emission duration of the laser. A training munition assembly for use with a weapon includes a case, a first firing element, and a release assembly. The case defines an interior cavity. The first firing element is disposed within the interior cavity. The release assembly is coupled to the case and engages the first firing element. The release assembly is configured to cause movement of the first firing element from a first position within the interior cavity to a second position within the interior cavity responsive to actuation of the release assembly from outside of the case. Movement of the first firing element is configured to generate a firing signature that is indicative of actuation of the release assembly.

A method of firearm training includes the step of attaching a cord to a firearm and the step of attaching the cord to a frame. The frame may include two vertically oriented members oriented in parallel spaced relation. Several attachment points are disposed upon the vertical members, and the cord may be engaged with an attachment point selected from the several attachment points. The method of firearm training includes the step of tensioning the cord while aiming the firearm thereby applying a force to the firearm. In various aspects, the cord may be attached to the firearm by attaching the cord to a loop that is attached to a rail secured to the firearm. Related firearm training apparatus are also disclosed.

A method of determining a point-of-impact of a ballistic projectile comprising: within a predetermined site using a weapon comprising a barrel, a camera, and an IMU configured to provide data concerning barrel attitude: detecting a firing event associated with the weapon; obtaining metadata associated with the weapon; determining estimated pointing angles of the weapon; obtaining a reference image of the site; culling portions of the reference image not associated with the estimated pointing angles, creating a culled reference image; projecting the culled reference image onto an image plane; obtaining an image from the weapon-mounted camera, the image being centered on the pointing direction weapon at the time of firing; registering the image from the weapon-mounted camera with the culled reference image; and calculating the true pointing angles of the weapon based on the alignment of the image obtained by the weapon-mounted camera with the culled reference image.

An off-trigger safety training device for firearms and method of use. The off-trigger safety training device is removably attached to a firearm proximal to a trigger of the firearm. The off-trigger safety training device is positioned for longitudinal alignment with a barrel of the firearm and includes a concave recess oriented in alignment with the barrel of the firearm for receiving the operator's trigger finger. Longitudinally extending ribs protrude from a face of the concave recess permit the user to align their finger within the concave recess and receive a complementary longitudinal tactile engagement with the ribs for positive engagement of the trigger finger with the off-trigger safety training device.

When a semiautomatic rifle is live fired, it is ready to be fired again. The shooter's hands remain in the firing position, and just to the trigger finger and trigger are employed. But with dry fire practice, the shooter must cycle the rifles bolt to reset the firing pin. The shooter must move one hand from the shooting position on the rifle, the rifles along bolt is pulled back to reset the firing pin, the rifle is repositioned, a new site picture is acquired, and then the next trigger press can be accomplished. This invention replaces the rifles bolt carrier group and provides realistic muscle memory training by duplicating the action of the trigger, the feel and the sound of the release of the firing pin, and the resetting of the trigger for additional trigger activations. The invention does not interact with the rifles firing pin.

A weapon system training and firing aid comprising a shoulder bar attachment for elevating and/or traversing a weapon system is disclosed. It may have an elongate arm for attachment to the weapon system and extending in a generally rearward direction from the weapon system. Once coupled to a weapon system, it gives a user a stable method of supporting and moving the weapon system, allowing the user to quickly elevate and traverse the weapon system by giving the user an additional point of contact, for example at the shoulder or under the arm, to support and stabilize the weapon system.
