A mechanism using flexure hinges as part of the trigger and/or safety mechanism of a firearm. Flexure hinges provide relative motion between two stiff members by the elastic deformation of an arbitrarily shaped flexible connector often implemented in metallic and composite materials. The flexure hinges are formed by flexure links connecting two stiff members. The flexure links connect various parts of the trigger assembly, such as a trigger component, including a shoe, plate, or safety, to a housing of the firearm. A method of creating the mechanism provides a trigger component, a housing, and connects the two parts by a flexure link with a flexure hinge.

A mount assembly for attaching a firearm accessory to a muzzle of a firearm that promotes a more secure connection. The mounting assembly includes a front collar and a rear collar that are operable to clamp the mount assembly onto the muzzle. A detent ring mounted on the front collar yieldably biased by a spring against the rear collar to resist relative rotation of the front and rear collars. The mounting assembly is constructed so that the spring force applied by the spring does not continually increase as the front and rear collars move to clamp onto the muzzle. Detent springs used to yieldably hold the front and rear collars against relative rotation can be weaker than the main spring, which further reduces unwanted forces working against clamping of the mount assembly onto the muzzle. The mount assembly is also constructed to inhibit carbon lock.

A resilient bucking is disposed within the housing passageway. The bucking includes a bucking passageway that is operable to receive ammunition transferred from the loading chamber. A spring, having a plurality of spring coils, is disposed in the housing passageway. The spring is operable to apply pressure to the bucking when the spring is compressed. A gun barrel is slidably positioned within the housing passageway. A fastening mechanism is operable to attach the gun barrel to the housing and to put the spring into compression. When the spring is compressed, pressure is applied to the bucking and the bucking passageway is collapsed inward to seal entirely around ammunition that is positioned within the bucking passageway.

An extendable baton has a base section, at least one extendable section and a control rod. The base section may be tubular and have a lengthwise axis and an annular recess on an inner surface of a distal end and a release button on a proximal end. The extendable section may be tubular and nest inside the base section. The extendable section includes a locking clutch including a single slot disposed on the proximate end, a clutch plate disposed at least partially within the slot, the clutch plate including a locking portion, which engages the annular recess and a control aperture portion having an aperture, and at least one spring disposed to bias the clutch plate outwardly from the slot of the extendable section. The control rod is insertable through the aperture to retract the clutch plate when the release button is depressed.

A detachable grip panel for a real or simulated firearm according to the present invention includes an onlaid or inlaid aggressively textured surface layer on top of an adhesive layer nested into a specially formed recessed area on the grip panel. Additionally, the recessed area along with other geometry of the grip panel may be configured to provide an aggressive gripping surface while reducing the tendency to snag. Furthermore, the recessed region along with the chosen adhesive may provide for an ultra-slim profile while also offering thermal insulation.
