Disclosed is a device including an exhaust valve, that operates on a pressurised working fluid. The device includes a working chamber, defined at least in part by a side wall, which working chamber can hold a workload to or toward a first end thereof, the working chamber to receive the working fluid to act on a rear surface of the workload to propel the workload to or towards a second end, opposite the first, of the working chamber. The device also includes a return chamber to receive fluid under pressure from a front surface of the workload, the pressure developed at least in part by the movement of the workload towards the second end. Present also is an exhaust valve fluidly connected to the return chamber, the exhaust valve normally biased closed preventing working fluid from exiting the working chamber, but on receipt of, and action by, the fluid under pressure from the return chamber, will open to allow the working fluid to exhaust the working chamber to a lower pressure location, the working fluid exhausting via the side wall of the working chamber through to the exhaust valve. Provided then is a device that will remove or reduce pressure building on the rear surface of the workload when moved from the second end to the first end.

A Munitions Payload Delivery System (MPDS) is provided. One embodiment of the MPDS comprises a multi-rotor drone configured to carry a munition in the form of a HEDP linear-shaped charge or Armor Piercing munition or other-shaped munition. The drone, in one embodiment, includes a camera that provides a remote operator with a real-time video feed so the operator can pilot the drone to a specific target on a battlefield. Once a target is selected, the operator ignites the munition by flying the drone into the target, landing the drone on the target, or activating a radio fire button. In one embodiment, each of these mechanisms closes a switch on board the drone connecting a voltage to a blasting cap inside the payload.

The sound suppressor includes an outer frame, an inner hollow body including openings, a gas expansion area and a barrel attachment arrangement for attaching the sound suppressor onto the barrel. The sound suppressor is configured in such a way that when the sound suppressor is in use, the barrel is inside the outer frame and the shot of the shotgun passes through the inner hollow body, and the gases from the exploding propellant expand into the gas expansion area. The barrel attachment arrangement includes a first attachment part, a second attachment part, and a moving arrangement. The first attachment part is fixed to the frame, and the second attachment part is moved by the moving arrangement, which presses against the barrel to hold the sound suppressor in place.

A tiny and portable micro-spectrometer deployable in a bullet-like form that is inexpensive to the point that it can even be disposable is described. The device is based on the micro-spectrometer that uses the Fresnel diffraction principle that allows a tiny implementation with a nanometer resolving power of spectral signal. A bullet-like micro-spectrometer has an integration of a super capacitor as a power source, a charging coil for the super capacitor, an LED or laser diode light source and driver, an analog to digital converter (ADC) circuit, and a telemetry system with antenna string. An LED or laser diode runs in a burst mode to generate deep or vacuum UV to excite target material. When the excited state of target material undergoes a singlet or triplet transition, this transition process yields fluorescence or luminescence which is a material-dependent. The micro-spectrometer senses and uses this spectral emission from material to identify the spectral signature of the targeted material. The data is converted by an ADC and transmitted to a receiving station.

A helmet rim lighting system comprises a helmet attach mechanism and a housing holding electronics. When attached to a helmet, the housing produces both forward and downward lights. The forward light is generated by at least one forward-facing light, and the downward light is produced by at least one downward-facing light. The forward light directs light from the center horizontally to the left and right, both over 90 degrees, while the downward light is directed towards the ground, continuing the downward line of the helmet's edge. The helmet attach mechanism is designed to match the contour of a helmet's front rim. The system can independently activate the forward and downward lights and may include a single input for control. The housing and circuitry are waterproof, and the diffuser can serve as a gasket.

A vest utilizing an assembly and release apparatus and method incorporating a C-shaped clip defining a channel and a smaller slot extending along the channel, attachable to a first location on the vest. A pin of the apparatus is slidably receivable in the channel through the open end to assemble the C-shaped clip and the pin together. The pin has a tab or strip that extends through the slot, for attaching the pin to a second location on the vest. The apparatus includes at least one detent element associated with one of the C-shaped clip and the pin, cooperatively engageable with the other of the C-shaped clip and the pin for retaining the pin in the channel, and releasable in a predetermined manner to allow slidably removing the pin from the channel to provide a quiet and rapid manner of operation.
