A reverse movement unloads a used cartridge from the bolt and a forward movement loads a new cartridge from the magazine. The bolt carrier group receives an interchangeable bolt that is selected to load and unload one of the predetermined caliber sizes. The bolt includes a longitudinal cartridge retaining notch facing towards the magazine. The cartridge retaining notch is configured to retain the new cartridge in the magazine during the reverse movement.

An automated projectile launcher monitoring system includes a projectile attachment and a processing module. The projectile attachment, coupled with a projectile launcher, includes a sensor module and a communication module. The projectile attachment acquires signals from the sensor module and converts them into time-sampled data, which is sent to the processing module corresponding to a shooting plan. The processing module is coupled with the projectile attachment and configured to process the time-sampled data to generate a monitoring model. The processing module produces shot candidate(s) from the time-sampled data when at least one metric is satisfied, and deploys an instance-level classifier to categorize the shot candidate(s) to generate prediction(s). The processing module further computes an estimated proportion by aggregating the prediction(s), compares the estimated proportion with a real proportion to determine a loss function, and generates the monitoring model through an iterative process until a predetermined minimal loss is achieved.

A high visibility green laser sight/high output white light illumination system may be mounted onto the handgun for aiming and illumination, with the handgun being precisely and removably mounted to the side of the handgun stabilizer at a location where the handgun's grip can be ergonomically grasped in the shooter's dominant hand, both for operating the handgun and for controlling the position and orientation of the ballistic shield for aiming purposes. An interface that enables the handgun to be precisely and removably mounted to the handgun stabilizer may comprise a quick-draw holster that is mounted directly onto the handgun stabilizer.

The inclined surface pushes against the force inclined surface, thereby creating a force vector that causes the holster retention tab to pivot about the pivot element and overcome the urging force of the biasing device and release the catch from the ejection port.

The novel sight can include hybrids of combinations of infrared and bright white visible lights, and use all visible bright white light. A multi-position locking system can allow for a rail key to be used for spacing the novel sight at up to twelve different positions relative to the firearm.

The device may include a detonator inside or attached to the container. The detonator may trigger ignition of the two-part explosive after the unsensitized explosive is exposed to the sensitizing agent.

A lightweight, ballistic and blast-resistant multi-phase composite armor material based on a high-toughness heterogeneous interfacial layer, including a crack-arresting layer, a bullet-breaking layer, an energy-absorbing layer, and a support layer. The crack-arresting layer, the bullet-breaking layer, the energy-absorbing layer, and the support layer are stacked in sequence from a bullet-accepting side to the inside. Adjacent two layers are bonded with an adhesive film layer. The crack-arresting layer and the support layer are both made of a carbon fiber composite. The bullet-breaking layer is made of ceramic. The energy-absorbing layer is made of an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber composite. The adhesive film layer is made of a high-toughness heterogeneous interfacial adhesive.

Provided are a threat-countering system and a threat-countering method for efficiently countering incoming threats by using laser irradiation. The threat-countering system comprises a countering device, a deterrent device, and a decision device. The countering device detects incoming threats and counters the threats by using laser irradiation. The deterrent device is installed to prevent threats from approaching a protected object through a deterrent region in which the power of the laser irradiation is assumed to be lower than a predetermined threshold. The decision device decides the position of the upper end of the deterrent device on the basis of the upper end of the deterrent region.

The method involves obtaining an orthorectified photo of a region of Earth's surface comprising the position, and a coordinate system for the orthorectified photo; identifying the position in the orthorectified photo; identifying a reference object in the orthorectified photo; determining a reference direction between the position and the identified reference object; capturing at least one digital photo at the position with a calibrated digital camera, wherein at least one of the at least one captured digital photo depicts the reference object; and determining the direction based on the at least one captured digital photo and the determined reference direction, wherein the determined direction is based on at least one pixel coordinate corresponding to the depicted reference object in the at least one captured digital photo depicting the reference object.
