US12760981 - System for cooling automatic firearms and cannons

The patent describes a cooling system for automatic firearms that includes a corrosion prevention cylinder positioned between the weapon barrel and copper cooling fins. This design aims to prevent corrosive reactions between the copper fins and the barrel by utilizing a chromium and brass layered cylinder.
Claim 1
1 . A corrosion prevention cooling system for a weapon, comprising: a weapon barrel having a barrel outer surface; a plurality of cooling fins made of copper, each of the plurality of cooling fins having a fin inner surface; and a cylinder made of a corrosion-prevention chromium material interposed between the weapon barrel and the plurality of cooling fins, the cylinder having a cylinder inner surface and a cylinder outer surface, the cylinder inner surface abutting the barrel outer surface, and the cylinder outer surface abutting the fin inner surface of at least one of the plurality of cooling fins, the cylinder includes a first layer made of the chromium material and a second layer made of brass; wherein the cylinder separates the plurality of cooling fins from the weapon barrel to prevent the plurality of cooling fins made of copper from corrosively reacting with the weapon barrel. a weapon barrel having a barrel outer surface; a plurality of cooling fins made of copper, each of the plurality of cooling fins having a fin inner surface; and a cylinder made of a corrosion-prevention chromium material interposed between the weapon barrel and the plurality of cooling fins, the cylinder having a cylinder inner surface and a cylinder outer surface, the cylinder inner surface abutting the barrel outer surface, and the cylinder outer surface abutting the fin inner surface of at least one of the plurality of cooling fins, the cylinder includes a first layer made of the chromium material and a second layer made of brass; wherein the cylinder separates the plurality of cooling fins from the weapon barrel to prevent the plurality of cooling fins made of copper from corrosively reacting with the weapon barrel.
