A passively and naturally illuminated optical reflex sighting system for a firearm in one embodiment includes a housing configured for detachable coupling to the firearm, an optical lens supported by the housing, a fiber optic element, and a light-transmissible cover enclosing the fiber optic element. The cover and fiber optic element are in visual communication with ambient light which is collected by fiber optic element through the cover. In operation, the fiber optic element absorbs ambient light and generates a reticle on the lens for aiming the firearm. A red or other colored dot reticle may be projected on the lens in some embodiments. No onboard artificial light is used to illuminate the fiber optic element. The housing may include an integrally-formed rear sight which is alignable with a front sight to aim the firearm independently of the fiber optics generated reticle.

Aiming a firearm via a disturbed pointer is disclosed and can include receiving a mounting position of a ballistic aiming system with respect to a boresight of the firearm, a detected cant of the firearm, and a determined range to a target. An adjusted aiming solution for the target can be determined based on the mounting position, the detected cant, and the determined range. A projectable pattern of one or more elements can be generated, wherein an element of the elements can be related to a disturbed pointer corresponding to the adjusted aiming solution for the target. A light source can be controlled to output a portion of the projectable pattern of one or more elements comprising the element related to the disturbed pointer, wherein the disturbed pointer can be projected as the adjusted aiming solution for the target.

A smart aiming device includes an image sensor, a processor, and an adjustable reticle. A method of zeroing the smart aiming device includes: activating a dedicated zeroing mode: shooting at least one bullet on a zeroing target while aiming the firearm on the target using the reticle to determine an expected point of impact of the bullet on the zeroing target: imaging the zeroing target with the image sensor: identifying a location of at least one bullet hole formed by the bullet on the target, and calculating a distance between each bullet hole and the expected point of impact; and adjusting a location of the reticle respective to the bore of the firearm based on the calculated at least one distance, to thereby indicate a zeroed point of impact on the target on which a subsequent bullet shot from the firearm is expected to impact.

The present disclosure provides systems and techniques for an attachment that can be fastened to a gun. The attachment may include a top surface having a longitudinal axis and an aiming sight that is parallel with the longitudinal axis, a front surface having a latitudinal axis that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the front surface including a muzzle aperture, a left surface, a right surface, and a fastening system. The fastening system may include a first mounting aperture of the left surface, a second mounting aperture of the right surface, and a locking pin capable of being positioned in the first mounting aperture and in the second mounting aperture such that the locking pin fastens the attachment to the gun. The attachment may be fastened to the gun such that the longitudinal axis is parallel with a longitudinal bore axis of the gun.

A point blank delta scope reticle, wherein all range and yardage solutions (horizontal x) may be removed and/or ignored and only the vertical Y component is utlized. A vital zone of a target is viewed as a Y value and a ballistic curve can be calculated that will pass thru the determined Y value. The Y value becomes a constant in all calculations. The constant then yields one or more unique ratios that all ammunition follows since the vertical Y component is the constant. The aiming reticle includes a reticle and one or more subsequent or successive reference marks formed in an aligned fashion between the reticle and a last reference mark, wherein a relative distance between each adjacent pair of the subsequent or successive reference marks decreases as the subsequent or successive reference marks are formed from the reticle to the last of the subsequent or successive reference marks.

In some embodiments, an apparatus comprises a first body and a second body aligned upon an axis. The first body comprises a first sight window and a first side edge, a second side edge and a base edge defining the first sight window, and a first central indicator. The second body comprises a second sight window and a first side edge, a second side edge and a base edge defining the second sight window, and a second central indicator. The axis extends through a center of the first sight window and through a center of the second sight window.
