Claim 1

An accessory mounting attachment for repeatable precise alignment on a rifle, the accessory mounting attachment comprising: a mounting section; a rear sight leg at a front end section of the mounting section, configured for mounting to a sight base on the rifle; and a lock down assembly at a rear end section of the mounting section, configured to fix the mounting section to a movable connecting lug at a rear of a receiver of the rifle, the lock down assembly including: an eccentric element; a lug latching frame; and a coupling element connecting the eccentric element to the lug latching frame, wherein the lug latching frame is vertically displaceable via the coupling element in response to actuating movements of the eccentric element, and wherein the lock down assembly is configured to lock to the rifle after an actuating movement of the eccentric element placing the lug latching frame in a second position, where the lug latching frame engages in a latching manner with the connecting lug, thereby allowing the accessory mounting attachment to be fixed in a defined position relative to a barrel on the rifle, and wherein the lock down assembly is configured to release from the rifle after an actuating movement of the eccentric element places the lug latching frame in a first position, disengaged from latching to the connecting lug. a mounting section; a rear sight leg at a front end section of the mounting section, configured for mounting to a sight base on the rifle; and a lock down assembly at a rear end section of the mounting section, configured to fix the mounting section to a movable connecting lug at a rear of a receiver of the rifle, the lock down assembly including: an eccentric element; a lug latching frame; and a coupling element connecting the eccentric element to the lug latching frame, an eccentric element; a lug latching frame; and a coupling element connecting the eccentric element to the lug latching frame, wherein the lug latching frame is vertically displaceable via the coupling element in response to actuating movements of the eccentric element, and wherein the lock down assembly is configured to lock to the rifle after an actuating movement of the eccentric element placing the lug latching frame in a second position, where the lug latching frame engages in a latching manner with the connecting lug, thereby allowing the accessory mounting attachment to be fixed in a defined position relative to a barrel on the rifle, and wherein the lock down assembly is configured to release from the rifle after an actuating movement of the eccentric element places the lug latching frame in a first position, disengaged from latching to the connecting lug.
