Claim 1

A slide assembly for a firearm comprising: a slide having a top side, a proximal end, a mounting recess about the top side of the slide, a housing recess about the proximal end of the slide, and a retaining hole intersecting the housing recess; an extractor assembly mounted within the housing recess, wherein the extractor assembly comprises a stop located at a mid-portion of the housing recess thereby leaving a rear region of the housing recess clear of any components of the extractor assembly; and an optic sight positioned at least partially in the mounting recess, the optic sight coupled to the slide by a fastener received by the retaining hole. a slide having a top side, a proximal end, a mounting recess about the top side of the slide, a housing recess about the proximal end of the slide, and a retaining hole intersecting the housing recess; an extractor assembly mounted within the housing recess, wherein the extractor assembly comprises a stop located at a mid-portion of the housing recess thereby leaving a rear region of the housing recess clear of any components of the extractor assembly; and an optic sight positioned at least partially in the mounting recess, the optic sight coupled to the slide by a fastener received by the retaining hole.
