US12650286 - Spin-stabilized steerable projectile control

This patent describes a method for training a machine learning algorithm to control spin-stabilized steerable projectiles by analyzing their trajectories and steering policies towards designated targets. The training process involves comparing the trajectories of the projectiles with the targets to establish relationships that enhance the algorithm’s steering capabilities.
Claim 1
1 . A computer-implemented method of training a machine learning, ML algorithm to control spin-stabilized steerable projectiles, the method comprising: receiving training data including respective policies and corresponding trajectories of a set of spin-stabilized steerable projectiles, wherein each respective policy relates to steering a projectile of the set towards a target of one or more targets, and wherein each corresponding trajectory comprises a series of states in a state space of the projectile; and training the ML algorithm comprising determining relationships between the respective policies and corresponding trajectories of the projectiles of the set based on respective results of comparing the trajectories and the one or more targets. receiving training data including respective policies and corresponding trajectories of a set of spin-stabilized steerable projectiles, wherein each respective policy relates to steering a projectile of the set towards a target of one or more targets, and wherein each corresponding trajectory comprises a series of states in a state space of the projectile; and training the ML algorithm comprising determining relationships between the respective policies and corresponding trajectories of the projectiles of the set based on respective results of comparing the trajectories and the one or more targets.
