US12546574 - Interceptor

Device for interception of incoming ordnance, comprises a dispersion unit to disperse an explosive cloud in an expected path of the incoming ordnance, a proximity detector to detect proximity of the incoming ordnance in relation to the explosive cloud; and an ignition unit associated with said proximity detector that ignites the explosive cloud to disrupt the incoming ordnance.

The Interceptor is a device designed to disrupt incoming ordnance by dispersing an explosive cloud in its expected path and igniting it at a critical moment. It utilizes detectors to assess the ordnance’s trajectory and environmental conditions, optimizing the dispersion of the undetonated material for maximum effectiveness.

Claim 1

1 . Device for disruption of incoming ordnance, comprising: a first detector configured to detect incoming ordnance and determine an expected path and timing of said incoming ordnance; an undetonated cloud dispersion unit configured to disperse a cloud of undetonated material over a volume selected to affect said ordnance as said ordnance follows said expected path, said material being detonatable; an ignition unit configured to ignite said cloud of undetonated material at a time at which said incoming ordnance is susceptible to be disrupted by an explosion in said volume, thereby to disrupt the incoming ordnance; and a second detector for detecting wind speed or wind direction or temperature, or humidity, or barometric pressure, and modifying a manner in which said undetonated material is dispersed to form a cloud, said modified dispersing being prior to igniting. a first detector configured to detect incoming ordnance and determine an expected path and timing of said incoming ordnance; an undetonated cloud dispersion unit configured to disperse a cloud of undetonated material over a volume selected to affect said ordnance as said ordnance follows said expected path, said material being detonatable; an ignition unit configured to ignite said cloud of undetonated material at a time at which said incoming ordnance is susceptible to be disrupted by an explosion in said volume, thereby to disrupt the incoming ordnance; and a second detector for detecting wind speed or wind direction or temperature, or humidity, or barometric pressure, and modifying a manner in which said undetonated material is dispersed to form a cloud, said modified dispersing being prior to igniting.
