US12455131 - Techniques for indicating gun state information

The patent describes a method for indicating the power state of a firearm using electronic components, specifically through visual signals such as color-coded light patterns emitted by a light-emitting diode. This system allows the gun to communicate its battery status and power source to the user, enhancing awareness of the firearm’s operational state.
Claim 1
1 . A method of showing a power state of a gun, the method comprising: determining, at the gun, a battery power level representing an amount of charge remaining in a battery of the gun; selecting a color that represents the battery power level; generating, at a light-emitting diode, a solid light pattern to indicate that the gun is receiving power; determining, based on a charge sensor, that the gun is receiving power from an external power supply; and generating, at the light-emitting diode, a flashing light pattern to indicate that the gun is receiving power. determining, at the gun, a battery power level representing an amount of charge remaining in a battery of the gun; selecting a color that represents the battery power level; generating, at a light-emitting diode, a solid light pattern to indicate that the gun is receiving power; determining, based on a charge sensor, that the gun is receiving power from an external power supply; and generating, at the light-emitting diode, a flashing light pattern to indicate that the gun is receiving power.
