The present disclosure presents a muzzle break for a firearm having two portions, each comprising corresponding curved baffles, a semicircular channel running the length of the brake, circular inserts, and clamping screw receptacles. Inserts for the bore hole where the gas pressure is highest are inserted into the portions before assembly, and each half of the brake comprises a machined clearance, such that when the brake halves are assembled there is a split machined clearance over the firearm barrel outside diameter. The two halves are fastened together, with alignment pin inserts inserted into machined slots before assembly, and the inner portion of the interior channel is threaded to mate with the threading on a firearm barrel. The muzzle brake is mounted to the firearm barrel by threading the inner portion of the interior channel of the brake onto the barrel to the point of the split machined clearance. Two clamping screws are used to clamp down the barrel end of the brake inner diameter onto the barrel outer diameter to secure the brake to the barrel.

A muzzle brake having a tuner and allowing for micro-adjustments to the weight of the barrel of a firearm. Upon being fired, the weighted the barrel mitigates the effect on aiming by disruptive frequencies reverberating through the firearm. The muzzle brake can incorporate a muzzle brake and be positioned after the muzzle brake segment such that the harmonics of the muzzle brake segment can also be affected by the muzzle brake. Use of the tuner on a firearm can increase overall accuracy and affect the groupings of shots on target when compared to use of a firearm without a muzzle brake.

The present disclosure relates to a modular muzzle brake assembly for an artillery weapon or cannon. The modular muzzle brake assembly comprises a plurality of modules configured to be releasably coupled together to define a passage for a projectile such that, when the artillery weapon or cannon is fired, propellant gas urges the projectile to pass through the passage. The plurality of modules include a plurality of baffles configured to divert at least a portion of the propellant gas in the passage. The present disclosure also relates to a kit of parts for a modular muzzle brake assembly.
