A holster assembly includes a holster having an interior shaped to receive a handgun, and an entrance. An ejection port restraint pivotally connected to the holster includes a latch and is biased toward an obstruction position for engaging the latch with the ejection port of the handgun. A release device mounted on the holster body is configured to actuate both the ejection port restraint and the hood restraint, each toward the respective non-obstruction position thereof, in response to a single movement by a user to allow the handgun to be withdrawn from the holster.

A handgun may include a slider-integrated active illumination sight. By integration of electrical connectors into the slider that conduct power from a rear powered sight to a front sight mounting area, a light source inside the front sight can emit light to the shooter's eye and make the front sight visible in any light condition. In combination with actively illuminated rear sight marks, the user now sees three evenly illuminated aiming marks. Alternatively, light can be conveyed from the rear unit to the front aiming marks by means of fiber optics.

A handgun simulation assembly that mates a virtual reality (VR) controller having a trigger finger button with a handgun grip and trigger in order to better simulate the feel of a typical handgun for a VR environment. The handgun simulation assembly includes a handgun body with a mating cradle that is designed to receive and hold a VR controller. The mating cradle has an engaged position where the VR controller is affixed to the handgun body and an unengaged position where the VR controller is released. When the mating cradle is in the engaged position, the VR controller can be oriented such that the trigger finger button is positioned downward, and the control pad is positioned rearward and facing the user. The mating cradle allows various subassemblies to access the buttons on the VR controller to provide a more realistic handgun experience when in a VR environment.

A belt clip ( 36 ) may be disposed on one of the starboard side trigger shroud or the port side trigger shroud. The trigger shroud assembly ( 14 ) may include a closed configuration ( 17 ) and an open configuration ( 27 ). The trigger shroud assembly ( 14 ) may include a tactical accessory ( 47 ) such as a flashlight. The trigger shroud assembly ( 14 ) may be secured to a handgun for inside the waistband carry and to deter inadvertent handgun discharge.

The method comprises a secure handgun holster receiving, at a circuit board within the holster, contact from a lever within the holster, the contact resulting from pushing action of the lever; The method also comprises the holster waking up the circuit board based on the received contact. The method also comprises the holster verifying, via an authorized user detection process executed at least by the circuit board, that a provider of the push action is an authorized user of a handgun presently held by the holster. The method also comprises the holster activating, based on the verification, an unlocking process. The method also comprises the holster releasing the handgun based on completion of the unlocking process.

An apparatus and methods are provided for a handgun stabilizer that enables a shooter to very accurately fire a handgun while remaining well protected by a ballistic shield and looking through a bullet resistant viewing window comprising the ballistic shield. A high visibility green laser sight/high output white light illumination system may be mounted onto the handgun for aiming and illumination, with the handgun being precisely and removably mounted to the side of the handgun stabilizer at a location where the handgun's grip can be ergonomically grasped in the shooter's dominant hand, both for operating the handgun and for controlling the position and orientation of the ballistic shield for aiming purposes. An interface that enables the handgun to be precisely and removably mounted to the handgun stabilizer may comprise a quick-draw holster that is mounted directly onto the handgun stabilizer.

A hydraulic recoil device for a handgun or pistol is provided. The device includes a cylinder defining an interior hollow compartment having a first end and a second end. The device further includes a first resilient member; a piston assembly arranged adjacent to the first resilient member and at least partially within the cylinder, where the piston assembly includes a piston head, a piston rod, and a piston cap; an accumulator arranged within the cylinder; and a second resilient member outside of the cylinder. The piston assembly is configured to remove an initial jolt in a firing cycle with a hydraulic resistance and the second resilient member is configured to provide recoil reduction after the initial jolt in the firing cycle. A method of reducing recoil in a handgun or pistol is also provided.

The present invention relates to a silencer for mounting on a handgun having a barrel with a barrel extension and a frame with a mounting rail and a trigger guard, including a mounting portion provided and adapted to fixedly receive at least a part of the barrel of the handgun; and an attaching rail provided and adapted to support the silencer on the trigger guard of the handgun; the attaching rail is slidable relative to the mounting portion along a longitudinal direction of the silencer to adjust the silencer to a varying distance between the barrel extension and the trigger guard. The invention further relates to a method for adjusting a silencer on a handgun.

The upper receiver portion includes i) a guide rail for receiving a slide assembly and ii) a magazine compartment for receiving a magazine. The lower receiver portion is slidable onto the upper receiver portion in the magazine insertion direction. The locking element includes a contact projection and a locking projection. The contact projection form-fittingly engages with the lower receiver portion and the locking projection form-fittingly engages with the upper receiver portion.

A handgun wedge stabilizing brace (“HWSB”) comprising a stabilizing body and a support member which can be removably connected to a handgun. The stabilizing body braces the handgun against the shooting side of the front of the user's front torso below the shoulder and stabilizes it by being introduced between the side of the user's body torso below the shoulder and upper arm. One end of the support member is telescopically receivable into the stabilizing body and can be adjusted to the desired position by the user. The other end of the support member is removably connected to the rear end of a hand gun, particularly a heavy pistol. The handgun wedge stabilizing brace improves shooting control and stability when using a handgun, especially for one-handed shooters and individuals with a disability.

A handgun optic mounting system is disclosed for improving accuracy and durability with use of an optic mount to a handgun. The handgun optic mounting system includes an optic recess disposed on a handgun slide of the handgun, the optic recess having a recessed surface angled relative to an upper surface of the handgun slide, a barrel central axis, or both. Angle of the recessed surface provides compensation to bullet drop at longer ranges. The handgun optic mounting system further includes a plurality of threaded apertures extending into the recessed surface including a first aperture and a second aperture. The first aperture has a single mounting protrusion extending above the recessed surface, and the second aperture terminates flush with the recessed surface, allow a larger fastener to engage with the second aperture to create a greater clamping force with an associated optic mount.

The receiver assembly includes a receiver having a magazine well, a locking device having a locking lever for actuating the locking device, a control block accommodated in the receiver, a trigger pivotable in the receiver and about a trigger axis, a sear bar coupled to the trigger, a locking bar having a guide lug, and a lowering component accommodated in the control block, which has a bar guide slot formed therein. The sear bar extends to the control block and includes a guide bracket. The locking bar interacts with the locking device. The lowering component is displaceable for removing the slide assembly from the receiver assembly. The lowering component includes a control window and a guide link. The guide bracket is guided in the control window. The guide lug protrudes into the guide link and through a bar guide slot of the control block.

The closure is formed at least in two parts with a closure locking mechanism, which has two lateral legs, and a closure impact base lying between the legs, the closure locking mechanism being provided at the legs with at least one protruding driver element, which engages in a recess of the slide, and with at least one retaining cam, which engages in a shoulder of the frame. The closure impact base and the closure locking mechanism are hinged to one another.

A locking device for installation in a receiver assembly of a firearm. Unlocking the locking device allows removal of the slide assembly from the receiver assembly. The locking device includes a locking slider having a retaining lug, first and second guide members each formed on the locking slider, and a locking lever. The retaining lug may interact with a barrel to limit a movement of the slide assembly relative to the receiver assembly. The first and second guide members are received in first and second receiving slots, respectively, of a grip/receiver. The locking lever is pivotable about a pivoting axis and is couplable to the locking slider in such a way that the locking lever serves to actuate the locking slider. A transfer of the locking slider from a retaining position to a release position is effected by rotation of the locking lever.

A recoil compensator for a handgun defines a through opening along a central axis, the through opening including a threaded portion configured to threadably engage the threads on the distal end portion of the barrel. The recoil compensator further defines a port in a top wall and defines fastener openings each configured to receive a taper pin. When the recoil compensator is installed on the barrel, the central axis is substantially coincident with the bore axis and the port is configured to vent a portion of propellant gases from the barrel upon firing the handgun. The threaded portion threadably engages the threads on the barrel with a distal end of the barrel positioned proximally of the port. Each taper pin is received in a respective fastener opening and engages a side of the barrel. A slide assembly and handgun including the compensator are also disclosed.

A firearm sight has a body having an attachment facility configured to connect to a pistol having a forward target end and a rear end. The body has a forward end and an opposed rear end associated with the forward and rear ends of the firearm. The body defines a bore with a forward opening and a rear opening. An elongated insert is received in the bore and has a rear end and a forward end. The insert and body have an insertion limiting facility configured to admit insertion of the insert with the rear end of the insert inserted via the forward opening of the bore, and to prevent passage of the insert beyond a limited insertion amount. The insertion limiting facility may include the bore defining a step, a greater bore width forward of the step and lesser bore width rear of the step.

A handgun grip module assembly includes a grip module with a handgrip portion, a slide portion, and a trigger guard extending between and connecting the handgrip portion to the slide portion. The slide portion extends longitudinally along a central axis and has opposed sidewalls and a bottom wall. The slide portion defines a bracket recess in the bottom wall and defines a receiver well between the opposed sidewalls and above the handgrip portion. A recoil bracket is movably disposed in the bracket recess. In some examples, the grip module can be made of a metal or a metal-infused polymer. During use, the recoil bracket can move in response to forces exerted on it during the firing cycle.

A handgun trigger has a trigger body configured for pivotable or rotatable movement when installed in a handgun. A trigger shoe is removably attached or attachable to the trigger body and defines a user interface for firing the handgun. The trigger shoe can be made of polymeric material and can be attached to the trigger body using a snap fit. For example, the trigger shoe snaps over rear-facing surfaces of the trigger body when installed. Also disclosed is a takedown lever assembly for a semiautomatic handgun, where the takedown actuation lever operable between a firing position and a takedown position. In the takedown position the takedown actuation lever permits removal of the slide from the frame. In the takedown position the trigger is blocked from rotating to the pulled trigger position.

A hydraulically dampened rotary barrel locking system for a handgun is provided which preferably includes a receiver, a barrel and a spring-loaded moveable slide. The barrel comprises one or more axially aligned locking lugs configured to allow the slide to travel down the barrel axis when the lugs align with a keyway slot in an extended lug boss at the discharge end of the slide. Felt recoil is reduced and accuracy is improved due to a more balanced slide-to-barrel mass ratio than prior art and hydraulic dampening between the barrel and slide due to improved journal bearing action.

The pivotable arm is selectably moveable between a stowed position wherein the arm is vertically aligned with the body, and a deployed position wherein the arm provides a surface against which a user's forearm is removably receivable to stabilize the handheld device when the body is engaged with the handheld device.

A pistol comprises a frame having a grip defining a magazine well and frame rails with a slide connected to the frame to reciprocate with respect to the frame between a forward battery position and a rearward recoil position. The slide defines rail passages configured to engage the frame rails, and the rail passages include upward facing elongated ledge surfaces configured to engage the frame rails with a selected overlap amount. The ledge surfaces have a plurality of different regions along their lengths with the different regions having different overlaps. The ledge surfaces may have a greater overlap at end portions, and a lesser overlap amount at an intermediate portion, with the intermediate position being proximate the magazine well, and preferably a portion of at least one of the frame rail ends remains engaged with at least one of the frame rails during motions between battery and recoil positions.

A modular handgun system comprises an elongated universal trigger frame having a pair of slide rails and an accessory rail. The trigger frame is adapted to have a trigger assembly mounted thereto. The system further comprises a grip frame having an elongated channel and a hand grip extending downwardly from the elongated channel. The trigger frame is removably mounted in the elongated channel of the grip frame. The accessory rail of the trigger frame is positioned forward of a forward end of the elongated channel of the grip frame so as to be exposed. The system further comprises a slide and barrel assembly slidably mounted on the slide rails of the trigger frame.
