Systems and methods are provided for the making safe of a firearm. A safety system includes a lock mechanism coupled to an engagement member and a user interface. The engagement member is movably coupled to the firearm and rotatable between an unlock position and a lock position. A contact face of the engagement member is in contact with an outer surface of a distal portion of a breechblock in the lock position and precludes a distal movement of the breechblock. The engagement member is configured to transition between the lock position and the unlock position while remaining movably coupled to the handgun. Movement of the engagement member from the lock position is restricted by the lock mechanism until disengaged via the user interface.

An adjustable trigger safety system that replaces a handle or grip of a firearm is disclosed. The adjustable trigger safety system can have a frame that mounts to a portion of a firearm. A finger actuator is used to reposition an indicator that allows the main safety to rotate from a “safe” position to a “fire” position. The lower grip can have an accessory connector to connect external devices. The frame can house and provide pivot points for components located internally or partially internally to the frame, including a safety lever, an activation lever, and a safety cable. Rotation of the activation lever causes the main safety to rotate. The amount of pressure needed to move the safety and activation levers and deactivate the system is adjustable. The safety lever must be depressed before the activation lever, or the activation lever cannot be depressed. The finger actuator is ambidextrous.

The core may have a first longitudinal axis and include a first proximal end, a first distal, and a first end cap disposed adjacent to the first proximal end. The first end cap may include a proximal end wall and an opening for receiving a barrel of a firearm. The opening for receiving the barrel of the firearm may extend from the first proximal end to a first interior end wall. A bore may extend from the first interior end wall to the proximal end wall. The core may further include a first static vane spaced from the proximal end wall along the first longitudinal axis, and an array of baffles aligned with the bore, the array of baffles being arranged between the first static vane and the distal end.

A gun sight optic contingency system is mounted co-witnessed with a red dot sight onto a firearm. The red dot sight has a sight window that remains functionally unobstructed. The gun sight optic contingency system has a low profile rear sight located proximal to a shooter, and a front sight located distally to the shooter. The rear and front sights together define a sighting axis aligned with the path a fired projectile takes. Amounting, such as an adapter plate, couples to the firearm. When aimed at a target, the front sight is visible within and adjacent to a bottom of the view visible in the sight window. The rear sight is outside of and adjacent to a bottom of the sight window and also adjacent to and just below the front sight view in the sight window. The front and rear sights may contain a luminescent compound.

The invention is a cooling block that is added to a semi-automatic rifle to improve the cooling of the barrel. The cooling block is designed to fit into an air-cooling shroud and sit tightly against the gun barrel. The tolerances for the contact surface between the cooling block and the outer gun are critical for optimal cooling, and the block is designed for easy replacement to provide more continuous cooling.

A system for providing discharge monitoring of a firearm includes a first sensor, a second sensor and an event detection module. The first sensor is disposed on the firearm that senses a first acceleration along a first axis and sends a first input signal. The second sensor is disposed on the firearm that senses a second environmental variable and sends a second input signal. The event detection module receives the first input signal and compares the first acceleration to an acceleration threshold indicative of a shot; receives the second input signal and compares the second input signal to a second threshold indicative of a shot; determines whether a discharge has occurred based on both the first signal satisfying the acceleration threshold and the second input signal satisfying the second threshold; and generates an event detection signal based on the determination.

A trigger assembly includes a selector operable between a safe position, a semiautomatic fire position, and an automatic fire position. In one example, the assembly includes a trigger rotatable between a resting position and a pulled position, a disconnector pivotable between a first position where it is in the path of the operational rod, and a second position where it is out of the path of the operational rod. A sear is pivotable between an engaged position and a disengaged position and is biased to the engaged position where it is positioned in the path of the operational rod. A sear link is pivotably connected to the trigger, such that pulling the trigger moves the sear link into contact with the sear to pivot the sear towards the disengaged position. The sear link is spaced from the sear when the trigger is in the resting position.

A firearm suppressor assembly includes a modular suppressor which comprises a tube and a pair of end caps each being attachable to opposing ends of the tube and a plurality of baffles each being positionable within the tube such that a first bullet hole in each of the pair of end caps is aligned with a second bullet hole in each of the plurality of baffles. A bullet from a firearm passes through the first bullet hole in the end caps and the second bullet hole in each of the plurality of baffles when the modular suppressor is attached to a firearm. Each of the plurality of baffles has a plurality of gas holes is in fluid communication with a vent hole in the tube to pass combustion gases through the gas holes and the vent hole thereby reducing the intensity of the report of the firearm.

A suppressor for a gun is compatible with expanding projectiles (e.g., shot shells, pepper balls, bean bags, etc.). The suppressor includes a core configured to attached to a barrel of the gun and extend forward from the barrel. One or more baffles attaches to an external surface of the core between a rear end and a front end of the core. A housing generally surrounds the baffle and core. An end cap attaches to a front of the housing to define the front of the suppressor. The core includes a plurality of annular segments or bushings configured to limit expansion of the projectile as it traverses the suppressor, and the annular segments or bushings are spaced apart from one another and supported by rails.

Methods, systems, and devices for facilitating firearms safety are provided. A multi-factor authentication is performed to verify an identity of a user trying to access a secure firearm. Presence of a user contact with the secure firearm is detected, the secure firearm being in a locked state. Upon detecting the presence of the user contact with the firearm, the user is prompted to enter a passcode via a keypad on the secure firearm. Also, a biometric attribute of the user is obtained by a biometric sensor on the secure firearm. It is determined, if the user is an authorized user based on the passcode entered by the user and the biometric attribute of the user. In response to determining that the user is the authorized user, the secure firearm is unlocked.

A trigger assembly for a firearm includes a housing with an opening adapted to receive a trigger bar guide portion of a trigger bar. The opening includes a ridge that extends downward from an upper surface of the opening. The trigger bar guide is forced downward in the opening by a connector as the trigger is pulled to cause a first disconnect of a striker resulting in a first firing. Upon release of the trigger the trigger bar guide moves upward and upon return to a released position is forced downward to cause a secondary disconnect of striker resulting in a second firing.

A trigger assembly and associated method for use for the adjustment of trigger pull force of a firearm. The trigger assembly having a housing with an adjustment means in the form of a fastener in communication with one or more trigger springs that interface with a trigger. The adjustment means can be configured to adjust a length of one or more trigger springs to adjust the trigger pull force of the trigger assembly. A calibrated force tester can be coupled to a portion of the trigger to test the amount of trigger pull force necessary to release a hammer of the trigger assembly. The trigger assembly enables a calibrated repeatable method of giving a user the ability to adjust the trigger system pull force by the means of a calibrated laser etched scale on the trigger housing that works in conjunction with the adjustment means.

A suppressor for a firearm has a body defining an internal volume, a baffle in the body and defining a baffle aperture on a bore axis, a piston element including a mount facility configured for connection to the barrel, the piston element defining a piston bore registered with the bore axis, and the piston element operable to reciprocate with respect to the body along the bore axis between a rest position in which the piston element contacts the baffle and a recoil position in which the piston element is away from the baffle. There may be a spring interfacing the piston element and the body and be operable to bias the piston element to the rest position. The apparatus comprises an input for receiving information regarding measured velocity of a projectile in flight at least at one moment of time. The apparatus comprises an analyzer for determining the velocity and moment of time; an estimator for estimating value for a set of parameters; a calculator for using velocity, moment of time, estimated value and a zero-in angle of the sight to calculate a velocity of the projectile at the moment of time; and a comparator for comparing calculated velocity and measured velocity to determine whether a difference between the calculated and the measured velocity is less than a predetermined value. The apparatus is configured to repeat estimating, calculation of the velocity of the projectile and comparison with another estimated value for the set of parameters to model a trajectory of the projectile.

The bushing inner diameter is sized to slidably receive an outer diameter of the raised coupler section. The first and second non-metal tubes include a tube inner diameter and a plurality of openings formed through a wall thereof. The tube inner diameters are sized to slidably receive an outer diameter of the first raised sleeve support section and each end of the coupler bushing. The sleeve nut retains the first and second non-metal tubes and the coupler bushing on the elongated tube. A second embodiment includes a single non-metal tube.

The range card insert includes zero range increment markings, caliber markings, and a point of aim indicator. The range card sleeve includes a zero range viewing window, a caliber viewing window, a point of aim viewing window, and a point of impact indicator. The range card insert fits within the range card sleeve and can be moved upwards or downwards within the sleeve for selecting a desired zero range increment marking and caliber marking. A laser boresight is aimed at the point of impact indicator and a sighting system on the weapon is adjusted until the sighting system is pointing at the point of aim indicator. When the two values align, the weapon is properly bore-sighted for the desired caliber and range, which can then be confirmed by live fire.

The single-use firearm capable of firing a projectile comprises a firearm frame, at least a first barrel, a trigger operable to actuate a striking of at least a first ammunition cartridge, and an ammunition locking system, wherein the ammunition locking system permanently locks the at least first ammunition cartridge within the firearm, whereby once locked, the at least a first ammunition cartridge may not be removed or reloaded without permanently damaging the firearm. The system also incorporates internal electronics for, among other things, tracking, notifying, and monitoring the firearm and its users.
