US12644662 - Electric firearm

A firearm includes a fixed magnet and a movable magnet, wherein at least one of the fixed magnet and the movable magnet is an electromagnet. A control unit can charge the electromagnet causing the movable magnet to move towards the fixed magnet with high speed under electromagnetic forces. A firing pin is coupled with a movable magnet. The movable magnet moving at high speed causes the firing pin to strike a bullet loaded in the firearm resulting in the firing of the bullet.

US12644668 - Deterrent-device accessory electromagnetic-radiation-based activation

A kit includes a deterrent device, a grip activation system, and a housing supporting the grip activation system. The housing positions the grip activation system so that a sensing space of the grip activation system extends at least partly adjacent to a trigger guard of the deterrent device. The grip activation system includes an emitter configured to emit first electromagnetic radiation having a first wavelength; a detector configured to detect second electromagnetic radiation having the first wavelength; and a controller. The controller determines, based at least in part on the second electromagnetic radiation, that an object is present in the sensing space; and provides an activation signal to an activatable system in response to determining that the object is present in the sensing space. The activatable system can include a light source. Some examples include a housing, a grip activation system, and an activatable system.

US12590779 - Stead-field coilgun methods and devices

A method for operating an electromagnetic coilgun system, the method comprising: an electromagnetic coilgun comprising: a barrel and a longitudinally extended electrical excitation coil; wherein the electrical excitation coil circumferentially surrounds a bore of the barrel, energizing the electrical excitation coil to produce a steady-state magnetic field within and around the bore of the barrel, the steady-state magnetic field extending along a longitudinal axis of the barrel; loading the barrel with a magnetic dipole projectile at a breech end of the barrel, wherein the loaded magnetic dipole projectile is oriented with a first magnetic dipole moment aligned to a magnetic field orientation of the steady state magnetic field; and firing the magnetic dipole projectile by magnetically propelling the magnetic dipole along the longitudinal axis of the bore by a magnetic force produced by the steady-state magnetic field within and around the bore of the barrel.

US12398968 - Fault tolerant electromagnetic safety system for firearms

A fault tolerant electromagnetic safety system for firearms comprises an electromagnetic actuator with movable rotating member operably interfaced with the firing mechanism. The actuator is controlled via a programmable microcontroller coupled to an electric power source onboard the firearm. A safety actuatable by a user operably interfaces with the actuator and is manually movable between actuated and standby positions. In a blocking position, the actuator engages and prevents the firing mechanism from moving to prevent discharging the firearm. The safety when in the standby position is configured to prevent the actuator from disengaging the firing mechanism. Upon the detecting movement of safety to the actuated position, the microcontroller moves the actuator to a non-blocking position allowing discharge of the firearm via a trigger pull. The safety when moving to the standby position may be configured to mechanically reset the actuator to the blocking position in event of an electronics failure.
