A butt plate includes a damping member which is made from resiliently flexible material and a covering which at least partially covers the damping member. The damping member is made from injectable material, which is over-injected on the covering so as to make a single member with the covering. The covering has a perimeter including at least two flaps which extend astride the damping member.
