US12782093 - Gas generator

The patent describes a gas generator with a housing that features multiple discharge ports for combustion gas, each covered by a closing member designed to rupture at different pressures. This innovative design includes a breakage assisting portion to facilitate the controlled rupture of the closing member, enhancing the efficiency and safety of gas discharge.
Claim 1
1 . A gas generator, comprising: a housing; first discharge port provided in the housing and configured to discharge the combustion gas generated in the housing to an outside; second discharge port provided in the housing together with the first discharge port and configured to discharge the combustion gas generated in the housing to the outside; and a closing member covering the first discharge port and the second discharge port together and provided inside the housing, the closing member including, a portion covering the first discharge port and configured to rupture at a first rupture pressure and a portion covering the second discharge port and configured to rupture at a second rupture pressure higher than the first rupture pressure, and a breakage assisting portion configured to reduce the strength of a closing member at least at a boundary portion between the first discharge port and the second discharge port, wherein a pressure at which the closing member covering the first discharge port ruptures is lower than a pressure at which the closing member covering the second discharge port ruptures. a housing; first discharge port provided in the housing and configured to discharge the combustion gas generated in the housing to an outside; second discharge port provided in the housing together with the first discharge port and configured to discharge the combustion gas generated in the housing to the outside; and a closing member covering the first discharge port and the second discharge port together and provided inside the housing, the closing member including, a portion covering the first discharge port and configured to rupture at a first rupture pressure and a portion covering the second discharge port and configured to rupture at a second rupture pressure higher than the first rupture pressure, and a breakage assisting portion configured to reduce the strength of a closing member at least at a boundary portion between the first discharge port and the second discharge port, wherein a pressure at which the closing member covering the first discharge port ruptures is lower than a pressure at which the closing member covering the second discharge port ruptures.
