US12782090 - Mosquito infrared receptor blocker composition and system

The patent describes a vector control composition designed to block mosquito host-seeking cues by utilizing a substrate coated with an infrared ceramic layer that incorporates various functionalized nanoparticles. This innovative system aims to reduce the transmission of mosquito-borne diseases by interfering with the infrared receptor functions of mosquitoes through a specially designed coating applied to textiles and other materials.
Claim 1
1 . A vector control composition comprising: a substrate layer comprising a fabric substrate; and an infrared ceramic coating layer disposed on a surface of the substrate layer, wherein the infrared ceramic coating layer comprises a single infrared ceramic polymer skin comprising an insulation layer, a multi-spectrum signature mitigation layer, and an infrared anti-reflective layer, wherein the insulation layer comprises a vinyl acetate thermoplastic resin polymer, expanded alumina, and fused silica, wherein the multi-spectrum signature mitigation layer comprises at least one radar absorption material and a conductive carbon or carbon nanotube matrix, wherein the infrared anti-reflective layer comprises a plurality of nanoparticles comprising one or more calcium carbonate nanoparticles and one or more barium sulfate nanoparticles, and further comprises boron nitride and aluminum flakes, wherein the infrared ceramic coating layer is screen-printed on the surface of the substrate layer in a Faraday cage pattern defining a plurality of apertures, each aperture having a size in a range of 0.5 millimeters to 3 millimeters and a periodic separation distance in a range of 1.0 millimeters to 3.0 millimeters, and wherein the infrared ceramic coating layer is configured to shield thermal, vibrational, or gray body energy emitted from a human or animal subject behind or underneath the vector control composition to interfere with mosquito infrared host-seeking cues. a substrate layer comprising a fabric substrate; and an infrared ceramic coating layer disposed on a surface of the substrate layer, wherein the infrared ceramic coating layer comprises a single infrared ceramic polymer skin comprising an insulation layer, a multi-spectrum signature mitigation layer, and an infrared anti-reflective layer, wherein the insulation layer comprises a vinyl acetate thermoplastic resin polymer, expanded alumina, and fused silica, wherein the multi-spectrum signature mitigation layer comprises at least one radar absorption material and a conductive carbon or carbon nanotube matrix, wherein the infrared anti-reflective layer comprises a plurality of nanoparticles comprising one or more calcium carbonate nanoparticles and one or more barium sulfate nanoparticles, and further comprises boron nitride and aluminum flakes, wherein the infrared ceramic coating layer is screen-printed on the surface of the substrate layer in a Faraday cage pattern defining a plurality of apertures, each aperture having a size in a range of 0.5 millimeters to 3 millimeters and a periodic separation distance in a range of 1.0 millimeters to 3.0 millimeters, and wherein the infrared ceramic coating layer is configured to shield thermal, vibrational, or gray body energy emitted from a human or animal subject behind or underneath the vector control composition to interfere with mosquito infrared host-seeking cues.
