US12760977 - Adjustable gas regulator valve for direct gas operated firearms

The patent describes an adjustable gas regulator valve designed for direct gas-operated firearms, allowing users to modify the cycle speed of the bolt carrier while maintaining shooting position. The valve features a gas inlet, a gas tube, and an actuator that can be operated using the rim of an ammunition cartridge to control gas flow effectively.
Claim 1
1 . A gas regulator valve for adjusting cycle speed of a bolt carrier of a firearm, comprising: a valve body for providing a gas inlet; a gas tube for receiving a carrier key of the bolt carrier; a plug for controlling gas flow through the gas tube wherein the plug includes a threaded hole extending through the plug from an open end to a closed end configured to contact a seat inside the valve body; an actuator configured for altering the position of the plug; a stem disposed between the plug and the actuator, wherein the stem includes threads threadably engaged within the threaded hole; a plurality of notches disposed around the circumference of the actuator; a ball biased toward the notches by a spring, wherein the ball and the spring fixate the actuator in specific angular positions; and a recess disposed between the actuator and the stem, wherein the recess is configured to receive at least one dowel to retain the actuator in a valve body. a valve body for providing a gas inlet; a gas tube for receiving a carrier key of the bolt carrier; a plug for controlling gas flow through the gas tube wherein the plug includes a threaded hole extending through the plug from an open end to a closed end configured to contact a seat inside the valve body; an actuator configured for altering the position of the plug; a stem disposed between the plug and the actuator, wherein the stem includes threads threadably engaged within the threaded hole; a plurality of notches disposed around the circumference of the actuator; a ball biased toward the notches by a spring, wherein the ball and the spring fixate the actuator in specific angular positions; and a recess disposed between the actuator and the stem, wherein the recess is configured to receive at least one dowel to retain the actuator in a valve body.
