An accessory mounting system for a firearm comprising: a mounting surface defining a slot having a first end and a second end; an accessory comprising a first protrusion and a second protrusion, the accessory defining a hole extending through the first protrusion; a first fastener having an elongated body; and a second fastener defining a hole; wherein: the elongated body of the first fastener is configured to extend through the hole of the accessory and through the hole of the second fastener; the elongated body of the first fastener and the second fastener are configured to extend through the slot of the mounting surface and couple the accessory with the mounting surface; the first protrusion of the accessory is configured to sit within the slot and abut the first end of the slot; and the second protrusion of the accessory is configured to sit within the slot and abut the second end of the slot. a mounting surface defining a slot having a first end and a second end; an accessory comprising a first protrusion and a second protrusion, the accessory defining a hole extending through the first protrusion; a first fastener having an elongated body; and a second fastener defining a hole; wherein: the elongated body of the first fastener is configured to extend through the hole of the accessory and through the hole of the second fastener; the elongated body of the first fastener and the second fastener are configured to extend through the slot of the mounting surface and couple the accessory with the mounting surface; the first protrusion of the accessory is configured to sit within the slot and abut the first end of the slot; and the second protrusion of the accessory is configured to sit within the slot and abut the second end of the slot. the elongated body of the first fastener is configured to extend through the hole of the accessory and through the hole of the second fastener; the elongated body of the first fastener and the second fastener are configured to extend through the slot of the mounting surface and couple the accessory with the mounting surface; the first protrusion of the accessory is configured to sit within the slot and abut the first end of the slot; and the second protrusion of the accessory is configured to sit within the slot and abut the second end of the slot.
