US12723829 - Trigger mechanism

A trigger mechanism, including a trigger having a trigger shoulder; a trigger sear having a trigger sear shoulder, and wherein the trigger and the trigger sear are positioned such that at least a portion of the trigger shoulder is able to at least partially contact at least a portion of the trigger sear shoulder; a hammer sear having a hammer sear shoulder; a hammer having a hammer shoulder, and wherein the hammer and the hammer sear are positioned such that at least a portion of the hammer shoulder is able to at least partially contact at least a portion of the hammer sear shoulder; and a trigger bar, wherein if the trigger is rotated, the trigger releases the trigger sear, which, urges the trigger bar, which, rotates the hammer sear, which, releases the hammer.

triggermechanismfirearm

The patent describes a trigger mechanism that includes a trigger, trigger sear, hammer sear, and hammer, all designed to interact through pivotable connections to facilitate the firing process. When the trigger is rotated, it releases the trigger sear, which activates the trigger bar to rotate the hammer sear and ultimately release the hammer.

Claim 1

1 . A trigger mechanism, comprising: a trigger, wherein said trigger includes a trigger body portion with a trigger pivot aperture formed therethrough, wherein said trigger pivot aperture is formed proximate an upper portion of said trigger, wherein a trigger shoulder is formed in a portion of said trigger, and wherein a trigger pivot pin is positioned at least partially through said trigger pivot aperture, such that said trigger is pivotable about said trigger pivot pin; a trigger sear, wherein said trigger sear includes an elongate trigger sear body portion having a trigger sear pivot aperture formed proximate a first end of said trigger sear and a trigger sear link aperture formed proximate a second end of said trigger sear, wherein a trigger sear shoulder is formed in a portion of said trigger sear, wherein a trigger sear pivot pin is positioned at least partially through said trigger sear pivot aperture, such that said trigger sear is pivotable about said trigger sear pivot pin, and wherein said trigger and said trigger sear are positioned relative to one another such that at least a portion of said trigger shoulder is able to at least partially contact at least a portion of said trigger sear shoulder; a hammer sear, wherein said hammer sear includes an elongate hammer sear body portion having a hammer sear pivot aperture formed proximate a first end of said hammer sear and a hammer sear link aperture formed proximate a second end of said hammer sear, wherein a hammer sear shoulder is formed in a portion of said hammer sear, and wherein a hammer sear pivot pin is positioned at least partially through said hammer sear pivot aperture, such that said hammer sear is pivotable about said hammer sear pivot pin; a hammer, wherein said hammer includes an elongate hammer body portion having a hammer pivot aperture formed therethrough, wherein said hammer pivot aperture is formed proximate a bottom portion of said hammer, wherein said hammer includes a hammer face formed along at least a portion of said hammer, wherein a hammer shoulder is formed in a portion of said hammer, wherein a hammer pivot pin is positioned at least partially through said hammer pivot aperture, such that said hammer is pivotable about said hammer pivot pin, and wherein said hammer and said hammer sear are positioned relative to one another such that at least a portion of said hammer shoulder is able to at least partially contact at least a portion of said hammer sear shoulder; and a trigger bar, wherein said trigger bar comprises an elongate portion of material, having a trigger bar trigger projection extending from an area proximate a first end of said trigger bar and a trigger bar hammer sear projection extending from an area proximate a second end of said trigger bar, wherein said trigger bar is positioned such that said trigger bar trigger projection extends through or at least partially through said trigger sear link aperture and said trigger bar hammer sear projection extends through or at least partially through said hammer sear link aperture, and wherein if said trigger is rotated, said trigger releases said trigger sear, which, in turn, urges said trigger bar, which, in turn, rotates said hammer sear, which, in turn, releases said hammer. a trigger, wherein said trigger includes a trigger body portion with a trigger pivot aperture formed therethrough, wherein said trigger pivot aperture is formed proximate an upper portion of said trigger, wherein a trigger shoulder is formed in a portion of said trigger, and wherein a trigger pivot pin is positioned at least partially through said trigger pivot aperture, such that said trigger is pivotable about said trigger pivot pin; a trigger sear, wherein said trigger sear includes an elongate trigger sear body portion having a trigger sear pivot aperture formed proximate a first end of said trigger sear and a trigger sear link aperture formed proximate a second end of said trigger sear, wherein a trigger sear shoulder is formed in a portion of said trigger sear, wherein a trigger sear pivot pin is positioned at least partially through said trigger sear pivot aperture, such that said trigger sear is pivotable about said trigger sear pivot pin, and wherein said trigger and said trigger sear are positioned relative to one another such that at least a portion of said trigger shoulder is able to at least partially contact at least a portion of said trigger sear shoulder; a hammer sear, wherein said hammer sear includes an elongate hammer sear body portion having a hammer sear pivot aperture formed proximate a first end of said hammer sear and a hammer sear link aperture formed proximate a second end of said hammer sear, wherein a hammer sear shoulder is formed in a portion of said hammer sear, and wherein a hammer sear pivot pin is positioned at least partially through said hammer sear pivot aperture, such that said hammer sear is pivotable about said hammer sear pivot pin; a hammer, wherein said hammer includes an elongate hammer body portion having a hammer pivot aperture formed therethrough, wherein said hammer pivot aperture is formed proximate a bottom portion of said hammer, wherein said hammer includes a hammer face formed along at least a portion of said hammer, wherein a hammer shoulder is formed in a portion of said hammer, wherein a hammer pivot pin is positioned at least partially through said hammer pivot aperture, such that said hammer is pivotable about said hammer pivot pin, and wherein said hammer and said hammer sear are positioned relative to one another such that at least a portion of said hammer shoulder is able to at least partially contact at least a portion of said hammer sear shoulder; and a trigger bar, wherein said trigger bar comprises an elongate portion of material, having a trigger bar trigger projection extending from an area proximate a first end of said trigger bar and a trigger bar hammer sear projection extending from an area proximate a second end of said trigger bar, wherein said trigger bar is positioned such that said trigger bar trigger projection extends through or at least partially through said trigger sear link aperture and said trigger bar hammer sear projection extends through or at least partially through said hammer sear link aperture, and wherein if said trigger is rotated, said trigger releases said trigger sear, which, in turn, urges said trigger bar, which, in turn, rotates said hammer sear, which, in turn, releases said hammer.
