A propulsion strengthening member attached to a surface of an object existing in outer space, the propulsion strengthening member includes: a transparent member that transmits an emitted laser; and an opaque member that is provided between the transparent member and the object and absorbs the laser such that at least a part thereof is evaporated by energy of the laser.

This patent describes a propulsion strengthening member designed for objects in outer space, which utilizes a transparent member to transmit a laser and an opaque member that absorbs the laser energy, causing evaporation. The method allows for changing the object’s orbit or attitude by harnessing the force generated from the evaporation of the opaque member when irradiated with the laser.

Claim 1

1 . A method comprising: (a) attaching a propulsion strengthening member to a surface of an object existing in outer space, the propulsion strengthening member comprising: a transparent member that transmits an emitted laser; and an opaque member that is provided between the transparent member and the object and absorbs the laser such that at least a part thereof is evaporated by energy of the laser; and, (b) irradiating the propulsion strengthening member with the laser to change an orbit and/or attitude of the object using a force generated by the evaporation of the at least a part of the opaque member. (a) attaching a propulsion strengthening member to a surface of an object existing in outer space, the propulsion strengthening member comprising: a transparent member that transmits an emitted laser; and an opaque member that is provided between the transparent member and the object and absorbs the laser such that at least a part thereof is evaporated by energy of the laser; and, (b) irradiating the propulsion strengthening member with the laser to change an orbit and/or attitude of the object using a force generated by the evaporation of the at least a part of the opaque member.
