Claim 1

An archery release comprising: a body comprising: a plurality of finger engagement surfaces, wherein each finger engagement surface includes a concave surface; a moon pivotally connected to the body, wherein the moon comprises a curved upper surface; a hook pivotally connected to the body, wherein the hook comprises a hook-shaped portion and a lower engaging surface; a hook resilient member that applies a force to the hook; and wherein when the archery release is in a holding position, the lower engaging surface of the hook contacts the curved upper surface of the moon, and when the archery release is in a released position, the lower engaging surface of the hook is free of contact with the moon, wherein the force of the hook resilient member exerts a rotational force onto the hook to help rotate the hook and to move the hook away from the moon as the archery release moves from the holding position to the released position. a body comprising: a plurality of finger engagement surfaces, wherein each finger engagement surface includes a concave surface; a plurality of finger engagement surfaces, wherein each finger engagement surface includes a concave surface; a moon pivotally connected to the body, wherein the moon comprises a curved upper surface; a hook pivotally connected to the body, wherein the hook comprises a hook-shaped portion and a lower engaging surface; a hook resilient member that applies a force to the hook; and wherein when the archery release is in a holding position, the lower engaging surface of the hook contacts the curved upper surface of the moon, and when the archery release is in a released position, the lower engaging surface of the hook is free of contact with the moon, wherein the force of the hook resilient member exerts a rotational force onto the hook to help rotate the hook and to move the hook away from the moon as the archery release moves from the holding position to the released position.
