US12674635 - Firearm action mechanism

The patent describes a pistol featuring a unique action mechanism that includes a reciprocating slide and a rotating cylinder with multiple chambers for ammunition. This design allows for efficient cartridge ejection and loading, enhancing the firearm’s operational reliability.
Claim 1
1 . A pistol comprising: a frame; a slide operable to reciprocate with respect to the frame; a barrel connected to the slide; a cylinder defining a plurality of chambers connected to the slide to reciprocate with the slide and operable to rotate with respect to the slide; the frame defining an ammunition compartment including an upper most ammunition position; the cylinder having a first chamber registered with the barrel and a second chamber registered with the upper most ammunition position, such that in response to a cartridge in the first chamber discharging, the slide reciprocates to a recoil position to eject a cartridge case and to cause an upper most cartridge to enter the second chamber, and in response to return of the slide to battery the cylinder rotates to register the second chamber and the upper most cartridge to alignment with the barrel for subsequent discharge.
