A perforating gun tube, characterized in that the tube is made of a steel alloy comprising, in addition to iron, the following alloying elements, expressed in percent by mass: C 0.12-0.22% Si 0.3-1.0% Mn 1.0-4% Cr 0.5-2% Mo 0.1-1%, V 0.05-0.2% Ti 0.02-0.1% and B 0.001-0.01% and impurities due to smelting, and wherein the tube has a yield strength, R p0.2 , in the range from 750 to 1100 MPa; and wherein the tube has an air-hardened bainitic microstructure comprising at least 70 area percent bainite. C 0.12-0.22% Si 0.3-1.0% Mn 1.0-4% Cr 0.5-2% Mo 0.1-1%, V 0.05-0.2% Ti 0.02-0.1% and B 0.001-0.01% and impurities due to smelting, and wherein the tube has a yield strength, R p0.2 , in the range from 750 to 1100 MPa; and wherein the tube has an air-hardened bainitic microstructure comprising at least 70 area percent bainite.
