US12535285 - End cap muzzle control

A firearm accessory and an end cap useful with the firearm assembly. The firearm assembly handles exhaust gas expelled with a round fired from a firearm and includes a fitting, a sleeve, a fluid pressure dissipation structure, and an end cap assembly located at a distal end of the fluid dissipation structure. The sleeve defines an internal volume that at least partially receives the fluid dissipation structure. The end cap assembly and the fluid dissipation structure at least partially define one or more distal chambers in communication with the internal volume. The end cap assembly defines an angled port.

The patent describes an end cap accessory for firearms designed to suppress flash upon discharge, featuring a central bore for bullet passage and multiple angled ports for gas dissipation. The design includes specific recesses and ridges on the distal face to enhance functionality and manage the exhaust gases effectively.

Claim 1

1 . An end cap for a firearm accessory for use in suppressing flash from a firearm upon discharge of a round, the end cap comprising a body defining a central bore sized and arranged for receiving a bullet fired from a firearm through the body, the central bore having an exit opening in a distal face of the body, angled ports each having an entrance opening in the central bore and an exit opening in the distal face of the body at a location spaced radially outward of the exit opening of the central bore, a first recess defined in the distal face of the body, and second recesses in the distal face of the body, the exit openings of the angled ports being located in respective ones of the second recesses, the first recess being located radially outward of the exit opening of the central bore, ridges on the distal face of the body including a pair of ridges for each of the angled ports, and the exit opening of one of the angled ports being disposed in the second recess located between a first of the pairs of ridges, the first recess being located between and circumferentially adjacent one of the pairs of ridges, and the first recess being free of the exit openings of the angled ports.
