US12460893 - Crossbow with draw string coupled to fixed location

The patent describes a crossbow featuring a frame, two flexible limbs, and a draw string that interacts with pulley assemblies to facilitate movement between drawn and released positions. The design includes lever arms and attachment points on the frame to enhance the functionality and stability of the draw string mechanism.
Claim 1
1 . A crossbow, comprising: a frame defining a projectile axis; a first flexible limb including a first end and a second end, the first end coupled to the frame; a second flexible limb including a first end and a second end, the first end coupled to the frame; a first pulley assembly coupled to the second end of the first flexible limb, the first pulley assembly comprising: a first lever arm rotatably coupled to the first flexible limb proximate the second end of the first flexible limb, the first lever arm defining a first opening; and a first pulley rotatably coupled to the first lever arm; a second pulley assembly coupled to the second end of the second flexible limb, the second pulley assembly comprising: a second lever arm rotatably coupled to the second flexible limb proximate the second end of the second flexible limb, the second lever arm defining a second opening; and a second pulley rotatably coupled to the second lever arm; and a draw string engaged with the first pulley of the first pulley assembly and the second pulley of the second pulley assembly, the draw string configured to move between a released position and a drawn position, the draw string extending through the first opening and the second opening, the draw string including: a first end portion coupled to a first attachment point on the frame; and a second end portion coupled to a second attachment point on the frame. a frame defining a projectile axis; a first flexible limb including a first end and a second end, the first end coupled to the frame; a second flexible limb including a first end and a second end, the first end coupled to the frame; a first pulley assembly coupled to the second end of the first flexible limb, the first pulley assembly comprising: a first lever arm rotatably coupled to the first flexible limb proximate the second end of the first flexible limb, the first lever arm defining a first opening; and a first pulley rotatably coupled to the first lever arm; a first lever arm rotatably coupled to the first flexible limb proximate the second end of the first flexible limb, the first lever arm defining a first opening; and a first pulley rotatably coupled to the first lever arm; a second pulley assembly coupled to the second end of the second flexible limb, the second pulley assembly comprising: a second lever arm rotatably coupled to the second flexible limb proximate the second end of the second flexible limb, the second lever arm defining a second opening; and a second pulley rotatably coupled to the second lever arm; and a second lever arm rotatably coupled to the second flexible limb proximate the second end of the second flexible limb, the second lever arm defining a second opening; and a second pulley rotatably coupled to the second lever arm; and a draw string engaged with the first pulley of the first pulley assembly and the second pulley of the second pulley assembly, the draw string configured to move between a released position and a drawn position, the draw string extending through the first opening and the second opening, the draw string including: a first end portion coupled to a first attachment point on the frame; and a second end portion coupled to a second attachment point on the frame. a first end portion coupled to a first attachment point on the frame; and a second end portion coupled to a second attachment point on the frame.
