US12442623 - Electrode deployment based on change in position

The patent describes a method for automatically deploying electrodes in a conducted electrical weapon based on detected changes in the weapon’s position or orientation. This system enhances the weapon’s functionality by allowing for the deployment of a second electrode following the initial deployment, improving its effectiveness in delivering electrical stimulus signals.
Claim 1
- A method performed by a conducted electrical weapon configured to conduct an electrical stimulus signal via a plurality of electrodes, the method comprising: deploying a first electrode of the plurality of electrodes; in accordance with deploying the first electrode, detecting a change in position of the conducted electrical weapon via a position detector of the conducted electrical weapon; and in accordance with the change in position, automatically deploying a second electrode of the plurality of electrodes. deploying a first electrode of the plurality of electrodes; in accordance with deploying the first electrode, detecting a change in position of the conducted electrical weapon via a position detector of the conducted electrical weapon; and in accordance with the change in position, automatically deploying a second electrode of the plurality of electrodes.
