US12392163 - Portable razor wire rapid deployment unit

A razor wire rapid deployment unit (RDU)/barrier is disclosed. In some embodiments, the RDU includes an enclosure having a first section coupleable with a second section, the enclosure defining an interior area therein. The RDU may further include a razor wire disposed within the interior area of the enclosure, a first end of the razor wire directly coupled to the first section, and a second end of the razor wire directly coupled to the second section. The first and second sides of the enclosure may be separated from one another to deploy the razor wire from a compressed configuration to an expanded configuration.

The patent describes a portable razor wire rapid deployment unit (RDU) that features an enclosure with two sections, allowing for the deployment of razor wire from a compressed to an expanded configuration. The design includes an anchor component for securing the unit to the ground and a wire support to retain the razor wire within the enclosure.

Claim 1

  1. A razor wire rapid deployment unit (RDU), comprising: an enclosure having a first section coupleable with a second section; a razor wire, wherein a first end of the razor wire is coupled to the first section, and wherein a second end of the razor wire is coupled to the second section, wherein the first and second sections of the enclosure are separable from one another to bias the razor wire between a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration, and wherein the second section of the enclosure comprises an anchor component for securing the second section to a ground surface; and a wire support extending into an interior area of the enclosure, wherein the wire support is operable to retain the razor wire, and wherein the wire support comprises: a base coupled to the first section; and a free end extending from the base, wherein an upper surface of the free end extends at an angle away from the ground surface as it extends away from the first section, and wherein the free end terminates within the interior area of the enclosure when the first and second sections are in the compressed configuration. an enclosure having a first section coupleable with a second section; a razor wire, wherein a first end of the razor wire is coupled to the first section, and wherein a second end of the razor wire is coupled to the second section, wherein the first and second sections of the enclosure are separable from one another to bias the razor wire between a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration, and wherein the second section of the enclosure comprises an anchor component for securing the second section to a ground surface; and a wire support extending into an interior area of the enclosure, wherein the wire support is operable to retain the razor wire, and wherein the wire support comprises: a base coupled to the first section; and a free end extending from the base, wherein an upper surface of the free end extends at an angle away from the ground surface as it extends away from the first section, and wherein the free end terminates within the interior area of the enclosure when the first and second sections are in the compressed configuration. a base coupled to the first section; and a free end extending from the base, wherein an upper surface of the free end extends at an angle away from the ground surface as it extends away from the first section, and wherein the free end terminates within the interior area of the enclosure when the first and second sections are in the compressed configuration.
