US12326325 - System and method for dispensing powder for ammunition

ammunitionpowderdispensing
The patent describes a system and method for dispensing powder in ammunition loading, utilizing a processor-controlled motor to rotate a barrel at specific speeds to achieve accurate powder dispensing. It incorporates sensors to measure the weight of the dispensed powder, allowing the system to autonomously identify the powder type and optimize the dispense rate without overshooting the target weight.
Claim 1
- A method for dispensing powder, the method comprising: controlling by a processor, at least one motor to rotate a barrel or tube at a first rotational speed for a first predetermined period of time to dispense powder from a hopper in fluid communication with the barrel or tube, through the barrel or tube, and to a receptacle on a scale; receiving by the processor, from a sensor on the scale, measured weight data comprising a weight of the powder dispensed to the receptacle and receiving, by the processor, the first predetermined period of time; and determining, by the processor, based on the measured weight and the first predetermined period of time, the type of powder dispensed. controlling by a processor, at least one motor to rotate a barrel or tube at a first rotational speed for a first predetermined period of time to dispense powder from a hopper in fluid communication with the barrel or tube, through the barrel or tube, and to a receptacle on a scale; receiving by the processor, from a sensor on the scale, measured weight data comprising a weight of the powder dispensed to the receptacle and receiving, by the processor, the first predetermined period of time; and determining, by the processor, based on the measured weight and the first predetermined period of time, the type of powder dispensed.
