US12313381 - Handheld weapon including projectile interceptor

The patent describes a handheld combat device equipped with a shielding system that utilizes actuators to deploy interception materials for blocking incoming projectiles. It includes a control system that processes sensor data to detect threats and directs the actuators to move the interception materials accordingly.
Claim 1
- A shielding system mounted on a handheld combat device for blocking projectiles, comprising: an interception material located on or about said handheld combat device; an actuator, configured to move at least part of said interception material; a sensor, configured to sense a threat caused by a projectile; a control system, communicatively connected with sensor and said actuator; wherein said control system and said actuator are configured to move said at least part of said interception material in at least one direction to intercept said projectile, based on said sensor sensing a threat of an impact from said projectile. an interception material located on or about said handheld combat device; an actuator, configured to move at least part of said interception material; a sensor, configured to sense a threat caused by a projectile; a control system, communicatively connected with sensor and said actuator; wherein said control system and said actuator are configured to move said at least part of said interception material in at least one direction to intercept said projectile, based on said sensor sensing a threat of an impact from said projectile.
